The sky was an amazing midnight blue last night on Sound View Beach. The crescent moon was magnificent!

Midnight Blue Sky

by Amber "V" Moonstone

4/20/10

Shimmering starlight
bore tenderness to my soul
seeing the illuminated crescent moon
above the sparkling ocean.

I was calling to you,
did you hear my words,
whispering through the windy air,
"for your ears only".

I stood on the dampened sand,
feeling the ocean breeze wash over me,
I was content to know that you were there
on that distant shore asleep

among the dreams that only lovers know,
contentment filling your mouth
as you smile within the cocoon of your slumber
not quite knowing why.

The Distant light, a reminder
that miles of ocean separates two souls
who silently hear each other's breath
captured within the Midnight Blue Sky.

very romantic and filled with the sweetness of love and patience. serene yet intensely sensual.

This is sweet, and there's a great sense of torment, as if more than water comes between them. Maybe a situation, too. Lovely imagery, Amber. Hugs,
Sheila

Very nice poetry and I'm 'jealous' that you live near a beach you can walk on in moonlight! I thought you lived inland?
best, michael

... yet all so close you feel you can actually reach out and touch it. Indeed it was the same here in Dorset on the night you speak of - velvety smooth yet sparkling, too. I, too, was outside talking to the sky and smiling, so we have much in common! :)) I'm particularly taken with your idea of "hearing each other's breath"; I'm acutely aware of this - that it is the pause between words, the intake of breath that impacts and resonates, rather than the words or what is said itself. I guess it's the breathing that anchors and is the root of the voice, and it's to this that our spirit attaches. Lovely thoughts from a lovely lady. Exquisite tenderness. xx
