her heart a divine gift to mankind
always open to all nuances of love
an endearing touch of angel’s tears
softly caresses my face in the night
how many times i’ve called on angels
lying in suffocating, thick darkness
where i must face the undeniable truth
some things are much too wounded
to ever be completely whole, healed
even with an angel’s kisses and tears
i am only a whisper on the breeze
lullaby sent to quiet her silent fears
of forever being alone and unfulfilled
i am just a dream she often embraces
when the night is too quiet and chilled
would that i could warm her completely
with all the sincere breath of my soul
but dreams are for sleeping moments
when two hearts secretly harmonize
and fantasy evolves into balmy reality
the first stanza is fine in itself
but the second is something of a revelation
where the poem moves to another level
of both consciousness and expression;
