Darkness

Poem Artwork

The darkness is here again
Bearing in on me.
It seems to burrow deep
Within my very soul.

My heart seems to shatter as if
A mirror dropped from a long way up
Shattering into a million trillion tiny shards that can never be made whole.

No matter how carefully the pieces are gathered, or how carefully they are glued together the mirror is never whole.

Pieces are always missing and my heart, like the mirror, is never whole.

The darkness comes in waves,
crashing and battering an already shattered heart and soul.
Will it never end, this pain?

It will, when you let the missing peices go and trust "The Great Spirit" to guide you through the chambers of your shattered soul.
You are the power of this poem and you are the author of its ending.
After the pain comes wisdom.

Yes the pain ends when you brush the pieces of the old mirror into the trash and look upon the whole again. Lady J

Dawn seems never to come when you focus on the dark of night.

Faith tells me that Life is a journey of lesson experiences. Our job is to learn. Like a child in the night, growing pains get our attention. Focus not on the pain but on the lesson. Have faith and give thanks for the opportunity to grow.

Our pain ends when we pass on to live forever in the heart of God.

Even the smallest shard will reflect the beauty before it. Never give up.
