Poem Artwork

I watch you as you wake

Stretching your strong arms above your head

Turning to me with a sated smile

Then as you reach out and pull me closer

Your fingertips stroke softly against my cheek

Then your lips touch mine in passion’s growing heat

You hold me closer to your manly body

Your lips devouring mine

And in between those sweet kisses

The murmur of your voice

Whispering good mornings

Then in my ear you whisper

This feels so right for you and me

Together in the morning’s light

Touching, holding, caring, loving

A sweet beginning to love’s lessons

Fly high with me and be my love

We will live on love and kisses

“Love and kisses would fill our hearts

But, tummies soon would grumble

As yours already is” my own voice whispers

I kiss your lips and then your cheeks

“I’ll be right back”, I state

And slip from our loving bower

To the kitchen I fly
For love cannot feed the body as it does the soul
A breakfast tray is soon prepared
Fresh coffee, croissants, grapes, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries
Finger foods to tempt the palate
Nothing heavy to weigh down love

Simply something to keep from starving
As love provides the rest of the bounty
No starving lovers to waste away
I wish to keep you healthy
So love will never fade away
But stay with me from day to day

A most sensual Saturday and Sunday morning. The beauty of your words make me wish it was already Saturday. During the week would be great, but we'd have to wake up awfully early to enjoy ...

Ann...the things that sustain the human soul...sex and food. Or is it...food and sex? Nice write.
