This would appear to be church rampant but not church victorious; this is rather church shamed and a total denial of what God intends. In some circles, the Parable of the Prodigal Son is renamed the Story of the Running Father... the father who watches day and night for the sight of his beloved son returning on the distant horizon... and runs to meet him with arms opened wide!! I like it better that way, but sadly much of The Church is the Church of the Bitter Older Brother and not of The Heart of The Father. For that, as a member representative, I can only apologise, Dawn. A true and illuminating write - good for you, but sad for the Church. We certainly need not only a change of heart and attitude but a real experience of the Father instead of the dead religion of credal belief that makes us so hard. Bless you for this and for your exposure of the death of true church as God intends it to be. Thank you. Kate xx
yeah...church folk. hypocrites saints and sinners, the church is like a microcosm of society, where all permutations are possible...a sobering and thoughtful write, poet! i like your spiritual outlook VERY much.

Dawn this is a phenemonal write! I'm stunned
