Poem Artwork

July flew by
and here I sit without a poem.

No inspiration
No muse
No verse - not even a curse.
Is it the summer heat, I wonder?
Is it the never-ending list of chores?
Is it the depressing news of wars?
Or is it flat out no more talent
Has it…. seized….?
Should I feel released?
Should I move on to greater things?
Maybe see what August brings?

Oh muse… will she return on wings,
will she whisper first, then sing
and feed my starving need
to pen and share,
to create and declare,
to write not one word of waste,
to celebrate a good rhyme’s taste…?

Oh muse, will you return?
And feed me what I deeply yearn?

Becca,
I have been wondering that very same thing myself.

It returned and you didn't even feel it
Read this excellent peace and see for yourself
this brilliant narration, of your poetic thoughts.
Love & peace

YOU could be sleepy BEck- that happens to me, I'm sharing that news with you. When I don't sleep well, my muse is not as active! I can't think or wonder straight!
REST is what may be needed! Horses/Writing stories/etc. must keep you awfully busy! my friend...
This poem hit the top 10, daily lack of writing in wonder of our own hearts, minds and souls!
Your muse was ONLY hiding, you see...

This piece is wonderful as it explores the questions of life itself. Great insight and leaves one to ponder....

-- I see you have no need for a new visit -- you have already been amply visited by the Muse -- this wonderful poem is testament to that fact -- JMW

I think your muse isn't too far away and just waiting for that heart of yours to open the gate and let those words race out into the open fields of our minds.

Rebecca,

It would be a shame and a waste of your wonderful talent to just give up. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

Maybe no poem on the seventh, but the eighth, the ninth, the tenth ... you've still got it, Rebecca, perhaps the Muse took a day off. It will come back, have no fear. And when it does, I'll be waiting to read and review! Beautifully penned struggle ALL writers go through. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

You still did well with not having anything to write about, Rebecca, much better than I ever could have done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

You did o.k. with this one. You are still in the business of writing poems. Just rest your mind awhile and something will pop in the middle of the night even. Keep calm and wait it out. Nice write though here. Will do for now.

She gave you a beautiful poem in this write. Never fear, dry spells hit us all. Try reading some of the old masters poems and you'll be surprised how a thought will pop into your head and a stream of poems will be born.
