Neat poem and a super outlook! You know, growing old and dying does not bother me, except for one thing -- there are way too many books left to read! And, sure enough, right after I die, you'll probably write a new poem! Terrible situation.
Excellent, CJ! And the picture is a perfect companion. I only hope I can have such a fine smile and such a fine outlook when I come to wear my years more openly. ;-)

A wonderful write! "No Tears for Me", should be the only medicine given to those who are grief stricken, or filled with anger or anxiousness, pessimism,etc...

Lovely write CJ...I only hope that I can have that view and outlook on life in my golden years. I imagine that my mom will be like this, for she has grit and determination like no other, a real fighter and doesn't want any pity for any reason. You've captured the true spirit of this spit fire of a lady within these lines. Reminds me of the character Miss Daisy on the movie driving Miss Daisy...enjoyed this much. Another great write CJ!

"No Tears for Me" is truly inspirational. As each of us grow old, we look back behind us, live in the moment, and avoid looking ahead, but all in all, we know we've lived a full life that has been satisfying enough in many ways that leave no room for tears.
You've captured the heart and strength of a valiant lady in a well-written poem.
What an amazing poem, that honors a resilient soul. My mother in law died in many ways when one of her kids died. She had one kid left but was never the same. I always thought it was too bad that she could not let go of her sadness. She seemed to prefer grave visiting to visiting her kid that was still alive.
