My Best Christmas – Ever!!

As I think back on the many Christmas’s I have had
I remember the people who shared my joy
And the longing for those not here
The food – posole, tamales, biscochitos, red chile
Buying just the right gift
And most importantly, the spiritual preparation for His coming
Each Christmas has brought untold bliss
I get to share this joy with family and friends
I share my abundance with the less fortunate
My first Christmas as a new wife
My first Christmas as a new Mom
Did I add – the food?
Each of these Christmas’s elicits an irreplaceable memory
The beauty and solemnity of midnight mass
The Christmas hymns
The secular songs
The traditional Christmas movies
The incredible gifts
Driving around the city viewing the Christmas lights and luminarias
But, this Christmas will be the bestest of all
God chose my gift
The gift of my husband’s life
I have him sitting in our living room
Instead of a hospital bed, or …
As I am blessed with this extraordinary gift
I want to share God’s blessings with you
I offer this as my Christmas gift to you –
May your life be filled with joy and love
In all your struggles may you have the gift of friends
As you strive to achieve your dreams, may you remain steadfast
When you are at a loss for words, remember your successes
When life is hectic, enjoy the fragrance and beauty of life’s roses
When you feel insignificant, revel in the majesty of each sunrise and sunset
May you trust your intuitions while endeavoring to live each day to its fullest

This is turning out to be my best Christmas -- ever. Why? The love of God, His provisions when we weren't expecting them (happened again tonight, with a gift card for food); love of family, who are getting healthier and stronger; the love of friends who enrich my life with their support and encouragement, and especially their prayers. It is I who is grateful. :) Beautiful, and I think I gained five pounds, reading about the food! LOL Oh, what the bother, it's C H R I S T M A S!!
