She found a pair of earrings
perched by a bench in Freshwater Park
They lay between two blades of grass
Could Milady have forgotten her class?

She wonders...

Was it birthed from a lover's rendezvous
perks of a lonely maid's guilt

She wonders...

Did his inclination bring him to truth
or was it the remnant of a lover's romp?

Her panick began to rise
as passersby stared with accusing eyes

But they were beautiful, she thought,
laying there unloved
who owned these godly stones
who in their right mind could part from such as these

Rushing home under heavy pours of rain
she makes it on time to watch her favorite show
a warm bath
a cup of hot chocolate
were a definte combination for a girl with her taste

She fell asleep
in front of the TV
slipping into dreamland
as the news reporter began to uncover the mystery of the Freshwater murder

she lay on satin sheets, peaceful as a babe
and tiny lights of the sad moon
caught the jewel hanging from pink earlobes--the only evidence needed to solve the grotesque crime!
