(Dedicated to all the hungry children in the world. Excerpt from Lemonade Street. I know there are many who care and are helping but I imagine that the ones who have not, must certainly think otherwise. These are our Cinderellas they truly have lost their shoe...)

Cinderella has lost her shoe
among the ruins
a place she calls home
No angry stepsisters
Or even a wicked stepmother
Only a world filled with people
who seem to show no cares.

A charity for underprivileged girls could really do with this poem to tug at the strings of peoples hearts, just like it tugged at mine. Even more than the gritty images I see on TV, because then it is so ghastly and so far removed...like its happening in another world. This brings the reality and desperation to life in my mind..I need to try to make a difference somehow

The world has become more and more like a chess confrontation, where pawns are just that, pawns, to protect and die theyr masters.
You know how the masters describe dying women, children and elderly?
Collateral Damage...not even something to talk about.

People care, governments prevent the world from freedom, by countries creed of greed. Famine could be wiped out within months if we saw the world as a planet, rather than label pieces of land, jealously guarding accumulated wealth, and dehumanizing people with labels, be it hindus. muslims, christians etc, and just seeing the brotherhood of man.

Such a beautiful child. It is so sad that anyone has to go hungry. It breaks my heart that the government pays farmers to destroy crops in order to keep prices up. And i have heard of other food destruction, etc.

Just breaks my heart to see the plight of so many around the world. Never any easy answers, but surely with food in abundance these children can be reached....

Be always safe,
Karen

Ah, the plight of so many children throughout the world... My heart thinks of Haiti and all the children I love so much there, and I am grateful for my own children born of Haiti, that don't have to live that life now...
