(Excerpt from "Lemonade Street")

If you won’t
I will
I will try
to let you go
’cause you’ve taken over my mind
everyday
every now and then
every three years from now
this game of intoxication
of endless unfinished business
has to have an end
we hang up
but never give up
whenever we meet
the ‘sickness’ begins
when we leave
it does not end
I have lost my head--
treading to you love
and it’s killing me

let me help you get over me
help me help myself get over you
we love insatiably
we ache unceasingly
it’s been too long honey
how can it be
that you and I
are so wrong for each other
by being too right
for one another?

let me
make me
make you
help me let go
this world
was not meant for us
eternity
is where we  go
an eternity of love
that just won't die
an eternity
with you
in me
inside
in a place
where no one can find
in that place
where only you and I know

(And as for me, this is what I'll do...I'll always love you)

Beautiful words you share with us Bernice as we all know we can love but it doesn't always mean that it is meant to be sometimes a friendship should replace it. Thank you for sharing.

Sounds somewhat like my poem, Ink Blots...
