What I wish for you my child
is that you neither see color nor race nor gender
that knowing everyone is important, you love them all thesame
Be defiant towards injustice, racism and inhumanity
do not see the world as others see for many are not color blind
do not becaome corrupt or harbor evil in your heart
watch for the one with a sparkle in their eye and a bounce to their feet
with these you should keep company
yet never belittle or mistreat them that go without
to them lend a hand, empathize and be an example
may all who meet you ever leave with a song in their heart
may they forget thier race, gender and color
may they leave remembering one thing only;
that in you they caught a glimpse of God's light.

Wise words, Bernice - very well penned. God had a sense of humor, I think, else why would we, even though created in His image, be all shapes, sizes, colors? The world would be a very dismal place indeed if we were all robots. :)

Bernice this is such beautiful advice that a mother could give a child. I think you should have this done up at a printer on special paper and framed for her wall so she can refer to it for years to come.

Bernice this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read as I installed this in our five children from birth and now in our twelve grandchildren. I have always believed we all equal as we are all God's children. He made us in the image of Himself which tells me whatever we are He is. Thank you so much for sharing.
