The moon is full tonight -
casting its silvery shadows
all over the sea, seducing.
Like jumping fish
leaping for joy
between the tides.
An angel appears.
I dare not blink lest she may disappear.
She is of ancient beauty.
Bright lights emerging from her pale skin.
Smooth, as pure as the
petals of a white rose.
She sits among the forest green,
cradled by a thin mist
that gathers around her.
As she plays her flute,
she places her pinkish lips
on the mouthpiece.
Gently, into the flute, she blows…
Hot breaths from her hot lips.
Her delicate fingers dance on its body,
illuminating passionate notes
filled with desire.
It is beckoning.
Slowly, he moves forward as she plays her tune.
He is drawn into her vortex once again.
Wind blowing and howling!
Leaves take flights, twirling,
Falling to the ground as they surrender
to kiss the angel's dainty feet.
Fire and desire course through his whole body,
The thundering sky turns red as he holds her in his arms.
Her dark hair was arranged in an ancient fashion; yet,
ornament unseen,
cascading down her shoulders,
draping her delicate face.
He brushes her hair to the side.
His eyes, now filled with passion and desire,
speak to her of a love that has lasted eons.
His dark hair combed backward, unmoved by the wind.
He lowers his lips to kiss her neck,
leaving a pleasurable bite mark on its surface.
She is mesmerized once again.
Once again, she allows
her body,
her mind,
and her soul
to be invaded.
In silence, I clasp my hands
and hold my breaths;
for I know if I do as much as to
blink an eye;
then all this
would be gone in a flash.
It is only through serendipity
that I was able to witness this.
Same time next year…
They will promise each other once again
as the year draws
to a closure.
Soon…
another new year will begin.
The angel and the devil
will set out to do their chores -
making resolutions;
capturing souls.
But they know…
even though there is
a little of the other within them
they must not allow themselves
to be overcome
by each other's identity.
I love the play of dark and light. I expected him to bite her neck. But they remain separate as they should.

Great passion between the Angel and the Devil. Yet, you are right, they should not let their own identity be lost to one another. The Angel should always be the Angel, and the Devil... Well, it's his own choice to be...
These two will always be in competition to claim our souls.
The struggle between right and wrong was never more apparent than when it emerges in allegory and mystique as only a masterful story teller can do. You have done it so well, Sandie.
There is a lot of beauty in this poem and also the reality of two different "souls" or "beings" needing to keep their identity. Nicely done, Sandie. Love and best wishes to you,
You are referring to Satan (Ruler of the Devils). He was NOT an angel. He was an imperfectionist, a rebel. That was why he was bounced out of heaven to earth. He collected devils as his tribe and started his campaign to go against God ever since. Satan is an evil entity. He never belonged in heaven.
For as long as we live, and for as long as this world exists, we know there is always going to be angels; and there is always going to be devils. The two are constantly fighting their battles to win us over; but it will be up to us to whom we should listen to. The angel, or the devil? Let our souls be blessed by God and we will find our ways.... ALWAYS!
