Chapter 2

She pulled open her curtains to one side to see who was on the beach,
but there was no one there. It was late into the night, the crowd had left.
She turned her head to each side to spy on both ends of the beach,
she still could not find anyone there.

She decided to just go to bed to sleep it off.
Perhaps tomorrow I will bring the doll to
the Lost and Found

She thought.

She went into the bedroom and pulled her blanket
over on top of her body and tried to fall asleep.
Suddenly, the lamp on the night table began to flash on and off.
She leaned over to turn it off.

As she lay back into her bed she thought about the doll again.
No, I shouldn't even be afraid of it. After all, it is only a doll!
Besides, it is a very handsome doll!
It would be nice if the doll was real.

With that thought, she closed her eyes and began to drift off to sleep.
Soon after, she felt a heavyweight press down upon her body.
It landed on her back! She wanted to turn around to see who it was
but had become too stiff to move.

She tried to scream in horror,
"Get off my back!"
but the scream would not come out -
she could only manage a whisper.

Again she tried hard to turn around to see who it was,
but the"thing" was too heavily mounted on
her back and she could not move.
She tried using her hands to support her body.

She was now lying sideways
and could see her mom walking into her room.
She seemed to be very much still alive and was looking rather young.
Not like the time just before her passing.

Her mom walked up to beside her bed
to check up on her like she normally would
when she was a little girl.
Where am I? Why am I seeing Mom? She asked herself.

"Mom! Help! Help me, Mom! get this "thing" off my back! I can't move!"
She screamed, but her mother didn't seem to notice or hear her cry.
She continued to walk around the room as if nothing was happening.
"Help, Mom!!!"She continued to scream for help in vain,

Becoming more and more frantic.
She wanted to turn around to see what or who it was
on her back, and get rid of this thing
- or perhaps - this someone.

She tried several times, and each time became much stronger.
Finally, after using all her strength she managed
to push herself up and quickly she turned around...
… but she could not find anyone there!

What was it? Was it a dream?
Then she blurted out loudly, "Mom! Why didn't you save me
when I was screaming to you for help?
Did you not hear me screaming "Help! Help!"?

She turned around, but her fear was now gone.
After all, there was no one there,
so it must have been a dream.
She would make her decision tomorrow about the doll.

Just as she began to relax, someone - a total stranger, now -
appeared in front of her.
She had never seen this man before.
He held her hand and lifted her out of her bed.

Now, they seemed to be out in the field of green meadow,
as they both seemed to be walking towards somewhere.
She did not know where this stranger is leading her to,
yet she found herself having no fear in following him.

Time was of no importance, whether it was day time or night time.
It seemed their objective was to search for something.
She knew she was searching for something and
yet it was unknown to her what it was that she was searching for.

Somewhere in the field of green
stood a light brown wooden shed.
It was not small nor was it big.
It stood against a bright blue sky.

Together they walked up the green field.
Suddenly, passing many beautiful flowers.
She allowed the man who was a stranger
to walk up to the wooden shed with her.

This man spoke to her a thousand words,
without moving his lips.
Yet, she understood him.
She had complete trust in him.

They searched the wooden shed
and came upon a single white boot.
The man lifted up the boot and showed it to her.
It was a very stylish white boot!

But there was only 1 boot!
Now, where could they find the other one?
And whose boot was this?
And who was this stranger who had led her to this shed?

She opened her eyes, and she was back inside her bedroom again.
Goodness! Why am I dreaming so many dreams tonight? She thought.
But even though it has been just a dream,
she could still remember the stylish white boot so well.

A story poem. And a dream story that seems to flit from one scene to another without much explanation to the dreamer. There is something about the doll that is causing all of this.

Believe it or not, before I opened the poem, I thought it might be about Prince on the anniversary of his death. Is that who the boot came from? ;-)

Those were wonderful dreams. The first dream may sound a bit scary. She may not know it, her mother might have been there to protect her already. The second dream was fantastic! It was very dreamy and filled with mental imagery. Keep it up! I look forward to Chapter 3!

Dreams are the BEST! That's because dreams have no age barrier and no handicaps. We can run 110 miles and then swim 50 miles doing the backstroke. Then bike ride half-way across the country and forget to sweat. Stories about dreams are fascinating as is this one.well done!
