Poem Artwork

She stands motionless, not uttering a sound, as the

Crystal vase slips from her hands and crashes to the floor,

Sending tiny shards of multicolored glass in every direction.

Carefully, she gathers the pieces, taking care to leave

Nothing behind - for if she does, someone may become injured -

Causing them to suffer - albeit unintentional.

Although reasonably confident she has done her best,

She studies the area once more - now smiling faintly -

Reflecting on the multicolored shards of her life.

Dawn - Thoughtful and compassionate poem. The imagery makes solid the
psychological and spiritual truth of coming to terms with the "multicolored shards" of our lives, not only for our benefit but also for the benefit of others. Wise poem. - David

Hopefully as we worry about others being hurt we care the same for ourselves. Those tiny shards are very sharp and can easily damage our heart as well. Thank you for sharing Dawn.

Once more, you have taken us behind an every-day incident into the realm of poetic equivalence in our lives. Once read, your blend of colorful shards of living, will stay with us for lifetimes.
This is excellent work, and we thank you for it. - Bill

Nice work, Dawn...life does have it's shattering moments just like the broken vase we pick up the pieces in hopes of not affecting or leaving others hurt...yet forward we strive past the faint smiles of reflection....

nice...

How beautiful. You write with such grace and ease. With each piece, you bring us a little closer to the lovely.
