Demand obedience or command love-- you can't have both!
Yes, you're right, that's your child Yours to discipline Any way you see fit-- By screaming By hitting By demanding obedience But don't expect hugs And goodnight kisses Or school-made cards that say "I love you!" Your numb little robot Can't express anything That you don't teach it Make up your mind... You can't have it both ways.�

This one is so good. There are so many of this type of parents, they really should wake up. Yes, they can't have it both ways. The child can only show love only when shown love.
