When I look outside my shadow,
I see so many things…
to take my time,
to take my space…
I find it makes me quite depressed
to dwell on all of this.
I find it overwhelming
to see so much confusion…
But when I look inside my home
my heart is lifted up--
Buoyed up by the love I see
in my little piece of heaven.
The little words of kindness shared;
the smiles and the cheer…
watered with the frequent tears
of challenges and fears;
but all creating deeper roots,
and binding us much tighter.
The rays of sunshine in my garden
burn bright—into my soul,
causing love to sprout anew
and deeper peace to grow.
I have a “farmer” by my side
that helps to cultivate our patch
with tenderness and gentle care
he guides and helps us thrive.
The Master Gardener oversees.
He nurtures us and cares for us
and helps us to endure
the heavy rains, the cloudy skies,
the stormy winds and weather
and the ice cold winter days.
And when the stormy days are gone
He pours His love upon us--
helping us to reach up high
to stretch to touch His light
and in so doing, we become
a beautiful, flourishing garden.
Stay strong,
In Spirit,
Bear

I want you to know that I think you and Dad with the Master Gardener make the best "gardeners" ever. I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for you guys working so hard to teach us right and even though it's stressful both physically and emotionally, I hope you know it's worth it and I'm grateful for your hard work and unconditional love! I am glad I have you for a Mom! I Love you!
Love, Ahna

When I lake-paddle in my red canoe, I listen for the voice of God. And in my posted poem Be Still And Hear My Voice, I share His words:
"In your gentle stroke you'll not evoke
A struggle amid life's strife.
With my beauty at hand on nearby land,
I'll reveal your purpose in life."
And in my living, I try to make a difference. I want my life to matter. I want to fulfill God's purpose, God's reason for my creation.
Words fail me in describing how touched I am not only by your lovely poem, His Garden, but by the beauty of your wonderful family picture. You and husband are an inspiration!
God bless you and your family.
Richard
