Pussy Cat

My daughter always wanted a pussy cat, so we decided to get her one.
She was very gentle, and she would love the cat a ton.
Our best friends lived just up the street,
And Mart hated pussy cats; he’d kick them with his feet.

She heard him many times, talking about how he hated cats.
She never said a single word, when she would hear our chats.
He would say he shot a cat, digging in the woodpile outside.
Her little tears would come, until she downright cried.

Her daddy called one day to come pick up a tiny kitten.
He got it from some man at work and he was really smitten.
I told my daughter, “Daddy found a little kitten just for you.”
“We’re going to pick it up, and buy some cat food too.”

She was so excited as keyed up as she could be.
We went to get her kitten just my daughter and me.
She held the little calico all the way to our door.
But when we stepped inside, she put it on the floor.

Off she went a runnin’ up the street in a flash.
So much for the kitten, a short time did it last.
After supper our friends came and Mart picked up the cat.
“Nice little kitty,” he said, as he rubbed its little back.

It looked like Mart was getting sick but he never did complain.
For he was talking to the kitty, we thought he went insane.
My little daughter left the room with the kitten in her hands.
Mart and Donna started laughing, Jim and I didn’t understand.

Donna began to tell us about an incident that happened hours before
When an angry little girl came a knockin at their front door.
When Mart opened it, my little girl was standing there.
Her little finger waving wildly and Mart could only stare.

He knew she was angry for fuming words were coming out.
He didn’t understand it all, but he could hear her shout.
“You Shoot My Cat, I shoot you dog,” and her finger waving still.
He knew he was being assaulted, by this little pill.

So Mart promised her right then that he would love her cat.
He even said he’d come down, to scratch its little back.
That’s the reason they were here, to ease my daughters mind.
But she never took her eyes off him almost the entire time.

hee, hee, hee...
How hilarious! My husband is a confirmed cat hater and tells stories like that...not that any of them are true, but he tells them just the same.

Know all about Mart and his hatred of cats. It's sad but he is not a cat lover, but will please cat owners to no end. I know from experience cause he came to my home and abided my gray cat too and he talks about her with me too. Just saw him today and he said Why would you want to take your cat when you move? Why, he knows why?

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
