Gee whiz, I knew I looked bad but...............

Poem Artwork

No Germs for Me!

Gee, my husband just got home from his hunting trip.
“You look like death warmed over, it was no Freudian slip.”
I do look pretty awful ‘cause I’ve been really sick.
But he didn’t have to point it out so darn quick.

I’ve seen the mirror and person lookin back at me.
I know how bad I look, I’m not blind, I can see.
Well, he didn’t look that great neither unshaven nor bathed.
I came back with a retort that left him totally unscathed.

“Yea, well you don’t smell good, I told him in no uncertain terms.”
“My girl, my problem can be cured in a shower not like your germs?”
“Oh it’s good to have you home,” I said sarcastically.
He just kissed the top of my head and said, “No germs for me!”

“Yea, well you don’t smell good, I told him in no uncertain terms.”

I think that's my wife's favorite line - she always says I smell like a dog - but I like that smell! (Must be the wolfman in me.)

And hope you're feeling better soon.

Some men are very uncaring, even if they didn't really mean to hurt you, but it did; and you have to point it out to him.
