Did you ever ask a question and then wished you hadn't, well this waiter did?

Poem Artwork

Sorry He Asked!

It was early for the supper crowd when an elderly couple came in and took a seat.
They looked so hungry and the waiter took their order quickly so they could finally eat.
He hurriedly brought the food and placed it in front of the woman first & then the man.
The man started eating immediately but the waiter noticed she didn’t even move a hand.

There she sat just looking out the window at the traffic passing by.
Not one time did she reach for her fork or spoon and the waiter wondered why?
He couldn’t take it any longer so he went and asked if there was something wrong.
She smiled sweetly and said, “No I’m fine, just listening to that beautiful song.

Her husband still was eating like he was in some sort of race.
He shoved the food in as fast as he could, as she sat stoic in place.
He couldn’t get his mind off her even while serving others that took a seat
He kept wondering how her husband did not notice that she didn’t eat?

The waiter was getting angry at the husband for he didn’t seem to care.
The woman still hadn’t eaten anything and she was just sitting there.
At last, he could take no more; he had to ask her as he did before.
But as he got close, he noticed she was finally eating and felt great relief.
Mam are you OK, “Oh, yes son, just waiting for Pa to get done with my teeth.”

As PeeWee said, a gentleman will eat after her...
But what a funny and disgusting one you bring us today, I see you are in that nauseating Halloween's humor.
