Little Cupid Resigns

The day before Valentine’s Day Little Cupid had a vision.

If he was Cupid next year it would be a disastrous decision.

So sadly Cupid decided to turn his little bow and arrows in.

His spell on the town would where off and they’d be mad again.

He called a Cupid meeting with all the Cupids near and far.

It would be on Valentine’s Eve at the friendly neighborhood bar.

All the Cupids listened intently to Cupid’s sad resignation plea.

He couldn’t take the uproar and anguish and wanted to be free.

So Elder Cupid stood up and said, Little Cupid we agree.

We will release you immediately and this is what has to be.

In one year you almost destroyed what it took years to build.

Our reputation is in the garbage and the landfill is filled.

After handing in his bow Little Cupid left in disgrace.

He never heard that Elder Cupid will now take his place.

Next year beware that no more shenanigans will be allowed.

And Elder Cupid was sworn in and this is what he vowed.

Little Cupid went home to his Cupie and his little Cudie too.

Gave them both a hug and wondered what they’re gonna do.

No more insane job and no reason for them to stay in town.

So they packed their belongings & went completely underground.

No one has seen them since that day Little Cupid resigned.

But they say new elected Cupid Elder almost lost his mind.

He tried to undo all the disasters that Little Cupid had done.

But that Old Bear loved his Olive and had Cupid Elder on the run.

It ought to be very thrilling when Valentine’s Day comes next Year.

For Cupid the Elder will be reigning and I heard he likes Coors beer.
