Unseen eyes watched
from the shadows
gazing with fury,
anticipating the perfect moment
to devour and proclaim.
The wind began to howl
swirling,
my heart racing,
pounding,
roaring from within.
Blinded by fear,
frantically I searched
for the presence I felt.
Shivering chills
running though my veins,
emotions raw
raging out of control
to silent screams.
Lighting streaking across
the heated night,
illuminating a moment of sight.
I reach without thought,
to touch, only to feel
the scorch of evils passion.
With one swift motion,
Satan played havoc on my soul,
rapidly stirring emotions
to rise and torment.
Silently he commanded my will
and beckoned me to surrender
to the drudgery of sin.
Droplets of rain
softly fell cooling the air;
quenching the fires
of hell that raged within.
I watched Satan’s vision
fade into the rain,
his kiss of death puddled
beneath me.
I looked to the heavens
with life dripping
from my soul
whispering,
why am I tormented
between these two worlds?
I stood wondering,
would I be quenched
with heavens bliss
or burn with hells fiery passion?
Only upon death will I know my fate!
The threshold
appears and disappears,
good verses evil battle within.
Who will win the trophy
of my heart and my soul?
For now, I am the victor.
The trophy is mine!

WOW!! Great power. The battle lines have been drawn. The question is can we see them or are we willing to cross them if our desires drive us to.

Very dark piece Tracey. You know, your works are beginning to have more depth and profound passion...however, this one is more revealing of a hesitation between heavens bliss and hells fury. I know the feeling well. You are really making me think.

masterful, passionate undertaking. Wildfire images and the spirit of something raw that needs to be set loose is evident in each verse. deft control of some powerful surges, there...Southern Belle. **Mari**
