Staring out into blackness
her nightgown a gossamer whisper
against her skin of Irish tones.
The house sighed around her
asleep like the graceful old dowager it was.
By the flicking candle light
she read from the leather journal
of moments penned long ago.
Each page worn, tear stained
from emotions that flowed.
The words haunted her until even
her lovely bedchamber became too small
to hold the restlessness of her thoughts,
the past was now the future
within her fragile hands.
Within her heart she felt
the faintest stir of hope like flecks of gold
sprinkled in a crytral-blue stream.
She knew the ramifications of destroyed dreams,
she knew the answers in that moment of truth.

without a reverent review of history, how can we move forward in hopes of not repeating the same tragic mistakes? - lovely and moving write.

Tracey, it seems like the moments flowed past and came back over and over again and dropped more tears as they passed by. Hopefully, she has read the pages correctly and finds solace in a love for all seasons. Bill Murray
