I knew I was destined for something grand
Something spectacular I anticipated
I watched for as long as I could stand
Then I turned my face to the wall and waited.
I sat with my face to the wall and waited
As the world passed me by
A world so simple yet complicated
Gone in the wink of an eye
Yet I sat with my face to the wall and waited
Love also passed me by
Love for which I was not fated
For you cannot do what you do not try
And I still sat with my face to the wall and waited
Youth too quickly rolled on past
While others conversed and congregated
Removed from it all from the first and last
I sat with my face to the wall and waited
When all had all gone by and my sun had set
And my life passed so sadly uncelebrated
I looked at that wall and sighed with regret
I missed it all while I hesitated
While I sat with my face to the wall and waited…

Hi Sue,
There is some real pearls of wisdom in that one,
Morchuis.
ps I still think a single string of pearls takes some beating.
