It's Only Words, Only Words, Only Words

Words can’t hurt you
They have no power to damage
They are only words
He wouldn’t have said that if he knew
How bad it would hurt
Its only words
He didn’t mean it, he didn’t realize
How I feel
Its only words
Words that send me plummeting into pits of depression
That change my mood from multicolored pastels
To the darkest blacks and grays
Its only words
They can’t hurt me
But the razor in my hand
And the pills in my stomach
Will do the job
That the words only started
The words
They really can’t hurt me

But I can
