Lost
Searching for self worth
Healing from the pain
Trying to unlock
The suffocating chain
Trying to break free
Find my way back
Depression finds a way
To double its attack
Clawing and climbing
I scream and fight
Despair keeps holding on
Clinging on tight

Lost
Sinking in a pit
Of hells making
No one can see
The ground breaking
Swallowing me inside
Dark and alone
Can't stop the feeling
Hope is gone
I cannot let it win
Its power over me
I must keep fighting
I want to be free...

Wow! What a thought provoking write...makes the reader see the struggle that affects many with the power of depression, and the feeling of hoplessness that comes with it. Just last week we heard about a neighbor whom committed suicide due to depression. So sad, and a trick of the devil! As long as their is breath in our body, their is hope...and what is hope? Faith, and faith is a substance unseen. Just as Peter walked on the water, until he took his eyes off Jesus and he began to sink. But once he begin to look up, he walked on the water again! He is our answer to depression, constant prayer and faith...a powerful write that touches my heart this morning. I went through a bout of depression many years ago, I felt shackled by chains, bound, and helpless. Prayer was the key tha tunlocked the shackles and set my spirit free!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Linda,

POIGNANT poetry that lingers...only those who've been there can truly understand what it means to be lost. Well done!

Dark write on a dark subject but I know your spirit is strong and you will find the light and once more glow like a beacon. Well written though sad.

Depression is something that leaves its tangible mark and takes away joy but it can be fought and won and writing helps. Poignant poem Linda. Well done, love Theresa.

If we give in what does that get us? So for as long as we can we go on.

Lost is the feeling we have in an strange city with unknown faces passing by and being alone in the musty room of an old hotel while the oppressive walls keep on closing.
We just can't lie down and let "it" win.

The depth of your poem "Lost" is outstanding. One can just feel the raw sinking emotion of lost hope even as that person struggles to survive and overcome. We've all been through those bouts of depression, but with perserverence to overcome and move forward, "this too shall pass".

Our lives are our's to control. We all expeience ups and downs...But rising from the downs sprung the greatest achievements in the history of man. Rise with Power and Strength. All is yours'. Take it now and don't turn back. Nothing is strong enough to hold you back. Break the rusting weakened chains. You are strong and shine so bright. Believe that for it's true.
