Everyone should be warm
Not suffering from the cold
Can you offer them a blanket
A candle they can hold
No one should be hungry
Can you spare a fresh hot meal
Even thou they may be homeless
They can see, hear and feel

Children's laughter in the air
But so many feel only pain
No home to call their own
Children crying in the rain
We pass on by the sick
Hoping not to see their tears
Their pleas whispered by the wind
Seem to fall on deaf ears

Can't we care a little more
Reach out a helping hand
They're not asking for the moon
Just someone to understand
What we just take for granted
Could make another person's day
Give a little of yourself
Is what I'm trying to say....

No matter how many times we speak about the hungry, needy, sick, and homeless Linda. My heart aches and my soul cries because I can indentify with them. And none of us want to be in those situations. I love your poem and it reminds me of Ma Bells old slogan " Reach out and touch someone" : This is what your poem did for me always in the spirit and at His feet! Peace!!!
Hi Linda, your poem is a candle of optimisim :-).There are plenty of simple things that we can do to put a smile on people's faces from giving a quarter to the homeless to telling a woman that she is beautiful.Unfortunately we live in a world that lacks humanity because we are so caught up in ourselves and feel it is more important to talk on our I-PHones than help someone out. There is nothing in this world that makes me happy then to make other people happy.I always give a little or a lot to myself to people so that they can at least have a smile on their faces and make them feel good about themselves.I like this poem a lot.Take care

Five years have passed. The sequel to the award-winning Chapel of Eternal Love, this book revisits the same couples in the first book, and where the lives have taken them since they left the altar at The Chapel of Eternal Love
A candle we all need to burn . . . a deeply moving write - terrific!!
