I Wasn't Ready To Die

My Pastor and his wife was traveling on a bridge and saw a lovely young woman about to jump. They immediately got out of the car and talked to her about Jesus. She was in church yesterday battling her demons and searching for Christ. This poem reminded me of her so I thought I would repost it. Its never too late...until that last breath is taken.

I wasn't ready to die
Too many things left to do
Letters went unwritten
Praises long overdue
So many things I had put off
To do another day
Lord,  how can this be
Is it too late to pray

I wasn't ready to die
So much left undone
No final word to my daughter
No goodbye's to my son
No time to make things right
Or take back words I said
No way to make amends
For all the tears shed

I wasn't ready to die
How could I have known
That in one final moment
My life would be gone
A million things left undone
No way to change my fate
Live your life to the fullest
Before it is too late...

Very touching write, I live near some cliffs that unfortunately are famous for people committing suicide, our church and others in the area have people up there at night to talk to people and show them love and hopefully prevent the ending of life. There are many stories like the one you mention. Thank you for your very well written poem. God bless. Baz

A touching story in your foreword, Linda. Your poem hits a personal level, as I've been where that woman was. Sad how many of us feel alone when there are so many people in the world. Thank you for sharing this. Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Ending life is easy for the one departing, it's those who are left that carry the pain and the burden of guilt. Circles must be complete before departure...nice work Linda

Hi Linda, I am happy you changed your mind also. You have remained a very good friend. I know what you mean by the last sentence. Unfortunately some of us have nothing to live for. Write me if you want to.

GOD BLESS YOU
TONY
