Battle Scars

There are so many women living trapped lives by men who abuse them. There IS a way out, you don't have to live this way. Get out while you are still alive, God will help you...only ask.

I walk the streets
My head held high
No tears today
I'm not going to cry
I'm starting over
A brand new life
I'll never again be
A battered wife

I know I can do it
I must be strong
Any way you look at it
Abuse is wrong
I will have battle scars
The rest of my life
But I'll never again be
A battered wife

Out of the darkness
Into the light
I know what I'm doing
Has to be right
No more hiding
Or living in strife
I'll never again be
A battered wife

My face bruised
My body sore
I stand up and shout
NO MORE
I refuse to live
Under the knife
I'll never again be
A battered wife

Where there's a will
There's a way
I know I can find it
I just have to pray
I won't allow anyone
To control my life
I'll never again be
A battered wife

You've always had
Power over me
The battle scars
Won't set me free
But I can move on
Build a new life
I'll never again be
A battered wife

My face bruised
My body sore
I stand up and shout
NO MORE

This is absolutley perfect writting, it should be displayed in every shelter for domestic abuse that you can find, as it would surley give hope to others in the same situation.
