This precious child needs our prayers. Please read this and say a prayer for
this sweet little one. May God be
with him.
Christian Douglas Turner, (Doogie) is
eight years old and lives in Prineville,
Oregon. He will be nine years old on
April 22nd. He is Sandra Corona's
grandchild, who writes here at AD.
Sandra has legal custody of him because
of the terrible abuse this child has
suffered. On March 23rd he was watching cartoons when
the retina in his right eye detached and
he could see nothing. He asked his
Grandma why it was so dark. His eye
specialist confirmed his condition and
called Portland..the pediatric retina
center...and had someone meet them at
The Casey Eye Center.
Little doogie underwent surgery from
1:30pm to 4:30 to repair his eye. When
they had the after surgery checkup
the next day the retina was attached to
his right eye, but he could still see
nothing. This eye is eye-shaped instead
of round so it had to be attached with
a band , causing swelling. Doogie says
its like being in a black tunnel with
a narrow light at the end. He can only
see light and dark from his left eye..
that is where the 'light' is coming
from. When he moves closer to the
light..the light moves farther away.
There is a chance Doogie could reject
the band, or get an infection. Since the
surgery he has gotten some sight back in
his right eye. This sweet child needs
our prayers so much.
He has not only suffered from the pain
with his eye, but his young life has
been tramatized with abuse. It is
suspected he has been sexually abused. He
was thrown in a pool and let go down three
times before being ' rescued ' , and
then laughed at for being a ' sissy'.
He was moved from one house to another
eating 'table scraps' or leftovers if
there were any. Sandra now has full custody
and she is taking excellent care of him.
It breaks my heart that this eight year
old child has suffered this agony most
of his life. He should be playing and being
a child..not sick and abused. God did not
put these babies on this earth to be
abused and hurt. Please AD, lets band together
and PRAY hard for this child, that he gain
back all of his sight, and as he grows up he can
put the abuse behind him. Such a precious child
to go through so much in his young life.

Poor baby boy. Stuff like this makes me sick...How can people be so cruel. Don't they know we have to teach them things because they don't know. I am glad she has him, makes my heart feel better for him. Maybe she can love him and teach him things the right way so there is hope he will function as a normal adult. My prayers are there. Teresa

Nicely done, Linda. I know about Doogie, and it breaks my heart.
This was so sweet and caring for you to write this for this sweet child, He shall certainly be in my heart...How very sad and terrible for him to have suffered so much,
oh, the horror! precious little boy needs our prayers, and you can count on me! Linda, thank you so much for getting involved in this child's life. I know Sandra must feel grateful. I have cried and prayed for God to not take his vision. The young lad has so many other problems. It isn't fair to place this final burden on him. I understand he started out as a premature birth, and everything except having his lovely Grandmother Sandra has gone down hill for him.
