A special dedication to a precious brother-in-law and the magical place that is so dear to his heart!

Poem Artwork

A priceless cache of memories gathered over a lifetime,
Tucked into every nook and cranny of Campelot on the lake.
Heart warming clutter, like the echo of children’s laughter
And the endless jibes of five brothers growing up happy
With invaluable treasures concealed in their hearts!
Sturdy walls held together with unconditional love
Were designed to shelter them and keep life’s tempests at bay.
Wide windows with a soul-searching vista of the lake
Brought the warmth of the sun inside and showed five little boys
The fascinating land of Campelot by the lake!
With determination, strong hands and a loving heart,
Their father taught them how to be men.
With a lovingly gentle touch and infinite patience,
Their mother guided them with grace until they stood on their own,
And released the protective grip she held on their hands.
Little boys armed with infinite energy, and boundless imaginations
Gradually unravelled the secrets of Campelot by the lake.
Summers were a mixture of endless dreams
And valuable lessons harvested by a doting father.
They followed closely behind him, mindful of his wisdom,
And in his shadow they found enlightenment!
With parents that encouraged dreams as big as they desired,
Five little boys magically transformed in the land of Campelot!
As time slipped by, the sand slowly collected in the hourglass,
Like the sandy beach they grew beside the lake.
And their footprints deepened as the future unfolded.
Then one day the five little boys left Campelot as men.
Life’s intricate paths led them away from each other,
But they share a bond that could never come undone.
When they return to Campelot by the lake, a magical transformation takes place.
The five grown men become little boys once more,
And they realize the magic of Campelot by the lake is forever theirs.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful experiences and memories, Anna. Your poem also reminds me of why I do not take offense when so many keep telling me that I never "grew up." Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

Simply magic. Our family had that magic until my father decided that it was too hard to take care of and sold it. My nephew was there last week and the current owner died, leaving it vacant for now.

This evokes a memory of last summer when the five of them, with their parents, got together at Campelot. All five were truly childlike again, with their water guns and the constant teasing and laughter. It's infectious to be around them and you've captured beautifully, this splendid little piece of paradise. Thanks again for sharing Campelot with us.
Hugs,
Maggie

Lovely cause for remembrance. For me, I was fifteen years old in a place called Union Pier Michigan, with my two younger brothers, and the first girl that stole my heart, that I eventually married.
Thank you for making me remember.
YTour friend, Mark
