Gathered Together
.
Gathered together …smiles on their faces
These lovely ladies are members of an
Exclusive club that was formed many
Years ago by those that would like to
Meet once every four months to plan
And enjoy traveling and being together
To be happy and carefree
.
They pile into a bus all dressed the same
Knowing that they are truly friends
Laughing and talking about their lives
Good and bad times shared
.
A long time ago one lady decided to
Make this club and it is worldwide
At my last count. Not unlike our “club”
Of poets of both genders and of many races
And creeds
,
That is what a club is all about…perpetuating
A kinship amongst friends with like interest
That open up their hearts and
Share their feelings and thoughts with us
Each and every week.
.
A time to relax and enjoy the many personalities
Of truly gifted people that can take anything and
Turn it into a work of art by simply dipping a pen
Into a well of liquid gold and transforming our world
Into one of serenity and peace
.
With anticipation and a happy smile we gather
Each week to meet with fellow poets and friends
To exchange our views on life and love
To share our inner thoughts and feelings
No matter what they should be about
.
Welcome to the club …each and everyone
Who comes to share their thoughts and talents
With us each week.
Peace,
Dayvid
As for the picture… Oh my God! Are we ever getting old! I'm for some new blood, aren't you? Where are the teenage poets? But then again, when I wrote teenage poetry it was all for this girl or that girl and it was really awful. So maybe it's better to just read old codgers' memories. Then again, maybe not. ;-)

A beautiful write of liquid gold thoughts, talents
and a smile to brighten the anticipation. Lovely.
