What are you doing to me?
How can you tell me things
You don't even mean?
I don't know why you say what you say
You can never explain yourself anyway

With the same question on my mind
I sit alone and simply cry
Is this what my love is supposed to be?
Certainly not in my dreams
Certainly not in my eyes

Where is my happiness I ask,
Where is the love I used to read about
In my books of hope and belief?
Are you the one to change my destiny
Are you the one to help me through
Dark days full of sorrow?
Are you the one to make me smile
When I start crying?

I wish I had the answers to all of the questions
That run in my head twenty-four/seven
My God, I need to lift the weight off my chest
This unhappiness feels too heavy to carry

You're the one who can lift all of this heaviness off
Just tell me for once what's what
Just tell me what it is you need
What it is that makes you weak
What it is that makes you bothered
What it is I need to have you around?

If you could see the face I carry inside my heart
You'd see beyond my bright smile
You would simply see
I'm just a girl who needs loving
Like any other person in this world

And if you would see that far beyond
I hope you'd want to cradle me in your arms...
And lift off the weight of the emptyness I carry around...
Funny how nothing can feel like so much
Do you even know what I am saying right now?

I get lost in my thoughts
So often. Too much.
It's hard expressing what I feel...
But trust me
I know for sure when I see your face
Your eyes, your smile, your voice
That you make me so happy...
I don't think you realise just how much
You don't even know how much you hurt me too
I wish you really looked beyond whatever you see
Just open up and close the door after you let me in
So I can show you what my thoughts really mean.
