I smiled at the end of this write. Even girls have embarrassing moments but fortunately it doesn't show like a males does. Ah poor young man. The teacher should have ignored and just left alone. Children can be bullied for something like this. She wasn't using her head here.

In spite of all your conditions, I see that your fiction has been interpreted otherwise by many comments. I've always seen things strangely, so I sympathize with the poor fellow in the classroom, and while I might smile, I wouldn't laugh at him if I knew what was happening. My most embarrassing moment at school came in the first grade when I accidentally took my snow pants off after recess in the hall and realized that it was a warm day and I wasn't wearing snow pants. ;-)

Since it's one of those things that we tend to remember, mine occurred at my girlfriend's house at her birthday party. It wasn't embarrassing because she was sitting on my lap. I was 11 at the time and actually quite pleased. I still am.

A very poignant experience beautifully rendered (and remembered no doubt). Thank you for bringing this to life again; it is in the experience of all of us (males), but some too shy to tell.

In front of a class it did not happen, but instead in a shower certain things rose to the occasion even though the occasion was not then but from thoughts of someone else at the time...thankfully I was in the shower by myself and the rest of the gym class already left...it never happened again, but I thought about it regularly...-e-
