Such pain undeserved comes through to me while reading this too. I hope the light comes back for you in all good time when you're ready to have it in your life. So sad, when love is lost.
So emotionally deep and expressive. The pain emanates yet hope is offered in the end in that you realize love will return - I have been there and know. Beautifully written poem.

Beautiful expression of longing and pain, dear Regis. My heartfelt wishes to you that the light will once again reach your soul.
At the time it seems like you can't get over it, yet with hope it all returns through a new smile or a laugh heard. My heart hurts too from this past years love, but know even greater love is out there for me!
Put together in this form they form a perfect picture. This is indeed how they must be read. And even though it seems sad and many people are trying to convince themselves that it is different, it is true that there is no sun in one's soul "until love returns". I am convinced that one must never be afraid of one's heart being scarred, and having been once broken it must be ready to be broken a thousand times over, as love means to fall, freely and without any false bottoms: there is love in this life and there is, most probably, nothing else.
"mournful is the wind among the skeletal trees", an emotion expressed with great care and crystal clear meaning Regis. It is a line to die for as well as the pain of your heartache shared with this reader. I wish you love and peace my dear friend. And may time heal your aching heart. Jon Michael

Dear Regis, if this is your reality then I empathise whole-heartedly. I know from experience that nothing prepares us for the shock of that one thing, that we thought to be so solid, suddenly blowing a massive hole in our precious world. However, I echo others comments when they say writing is one of the very best medicines. It affords us levels of expression that other areas of life do not ...plus it gives the mind focus and reason.

I am not sure if these are four individual senryus just shared together in this one item or if this is one complete poem made up of four stanzas that are written in senryu form but this feels like one complete poem to me. Very well expressed and emotional and written from the heart and with lots of feeling. You certainly don't hold back and express what you feel deep inside you without reservation. Bravo to you! I do hope you finally see the light and are back to your cheery, upbeat self... Thank you for sharing yourself, your words, your heart and soul.

My only experience with a huge heartbreak was when my first wife died from breast cancer. During a period of 3 years I watched as she became weaker until one day she was no more. The thought that she had left planet earth tore me to pieces. It took me 20 years before I could write about the loss. If I could do it over again I would have started writing sooner because that was the BEST therapy I could ask for. The other blessing was my ministry and church buddies who would not leave me when I was down and out. With prayer I was able to recover and come back stronger than ever before. My wife Liz has been such a blessing and I am eternally grateful to God for pulling me out of the mire of sadness and sorrow.
May the love of the Lord be with you my dear friend. You are a good man and you deserve a great woman! Amen!
Heartache is palpable in every one of these, Reg. It is much better to live your life alone than to live your life with someone who will make you feel as though you are alone. And so it is with love and the ones who decide not to remain. One day, someone will come into your life who will make you grateful that all the other relationships didn't work out.

I hear you loud and clear, Regis. When our heartbreaks there is nothing to console or repair. One thing might help, Regis, change your photo to one where you don't have that happy smile plastered all over your face. Somehow it sorta breaks the senryu's spell.
The loss of a loved one regardless of how that loss comes about is as painful as you have expressed in this poem. When you allow for the light to touch your soul again the skeletal tree's will blossom. Meanwhile be true to your feelings, experience it, and let it go for the new experiences that are arriving now.
