Time Train

I want to get off this train

Go back and find you

But this train will not slow down

It will not let me off

I just want to be with you

Watch the moonrise

Over a southern sea

Under sparkling stars

Feel the breeze

 Your hair on my face

Inhale the scent

Of flotsam and seaweed

Feel the sand

Between my toes

The touch of tide

You by my side

Hold your hand

Kiss your nose

I want to get off this train

And be with you

...enjoyed your "Time Train" poem's lines filled with past baffling-times and the not-stoping-train metaphor trip down memory lane and its distant whistle blowing the longing chant coming straight from your heart... Regis, I hope you have a great time ahead and the 2018 year spinning toward a happiness and love and a lot of laughter!

This moving poem made me feel sad,it's tragic when one feels trapped on a speeding train with no way out.My advice:Press the emergency stop button and then jump off.Or,be true to your own self (jump!).I hope you have a safe peaceful and joyful 2018.Best wishes always from Kay.

A fine bit of nostalgia. Especially for one long passed you by. But that time training keeps moving, moving down the track. And while you can look back, look way back, you can never go back down that track.

Our freight train, with all its baggage, never stops, as you have well described here.

Pull the emergency brake or just jump off. Whatever bodily injuries incurred would pale compared to those that regret can cause.

Know the feeling, Reg. There is a girl (was a girl) life times ago that I so wish I could return to and do things differently. Time is a savage master that knows no mercy and no compassion. Best to you,
Jim
