At this time of the year thoughts like yours are expressed the most. And then, at family get-togethers, egos are bruised in one way or another and even families break up and don't talk to each other or get violent. That seems to be the way of the world. Violence seems to be an integral part of our history that we can't seem to shed.
I'm waiting for our childhood to get over, like you express, and start fixing us and our world home.
Your poem reminded me of something I read the other day. A person was telling about a lesson his grandfather had taught him when he was just a boy. Basically, when other lifeforms die, their remains nurture the earth and the earth still thrives. If all of man were to die, Nature would seal the hole left behind and the earth would continue to thrive. The story is a reminder of just how little importance we have in the greater scheme of things.
Not a big fan of the gloom & doom fanatics. Just another radical leftist power grab strategy as far as I'm concerned. The climate has been changing for millions of years and will continue to do so regardless of what Man does. By the way, no CO2 emissions; no trees, no plants, no flowers, etc. Trust in the Lord!
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
I'm waiting for our childhood to get over, like you express, and start fixing us and our world home.
