WHATEVER IT TAKES, MY FRIEND...LOOKING GREAT THERE! AND I ABSOLUTELY 'LOVE' THE STAFF. A POET...IS A POET...IS A POET, INDEED...FABULOUS SHARE, THANKS! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
I spent too many years unable to walk without great difficulty. Beginning the very day of my hip replacement I started moving. In fact, in rehab the therapists were constantly fussing at me for "trying to do three times as much twice as fast." But I was motivated and nothing was going to slow me down!
This poem beautifully captures the journey of self-discipline and reflection. The balance between physical endurance and the emotional resonance of solitude creates a meditative tone, allowing the reader to connect with the deeper themes of resilience and self-discovery. The imagery of navigating darkness and embracing isolation is powerful, while the mention of the staff as a symbolic gift adds a poignant, personal touch. Overall, it’s an uplifting and introspective piece that highlights the healing power of both exercise and quiet contemplation. Great to read you after a long hiatus!
Write on, Regis!! I have started a regular exercise routine, and I feel so much better mentally and physically. Your words and you are an inspiration, my dear friend!!
And I was worried because you hadn't posted! Now I know why, you had a very good reason.
I too, value solitude and exercise. But when my exercise machine's motor gave out back in June and I couldn't get it fixed, I worried. Fortunately, I'm finding that I'm not experiencing any more muscle spasms than I did before and actually sleeping better as time goes along and I age, needing more sleep.
Let me envy you and your solitary journey throughout your kingdom. Wish I was walking with you so you could point out all the fauna and flora you know to me.
My goal now is to buy a bicycle!
Rebecca
Love ya!
