How people can mess up their life with drugs is amazing and it does mess up their lives until they realize almost too late. families suffer from it as I had a neighbor on drugs who wouldn't even give his wife $25 for groceries. That was a sad thing to know.

Great portrayal of drugs and what they do to people. I think people should avoid this kind of "marriage" but many unfortunately prefer it.

OMG REGIS,
What a true picture you painted. My former neighbor's son was hooked on meth, he was never the same. The sad reality is the dad is a pastor at a local church, he could not even stop his son from getting hooked on that stuff.

Seductive... the devil's bride is rightly named. I was writing about people who appear beautiful, but are not, when I finished and turned on a TV program of the scourge of crystal meth.

Oh so dark and true. Drugs are not the escape, but the prison that so many fall victim to.

I thought the torture and realism was portrayed in an excellent voice.

A powerful write my friend! One that we as educators, bankers, lawyers, parents, students...have been affected in some way by this terrible and very addictive drug. Sad and tragic when in one classroom of twenty three children three have lost a parent from some type of drug. One year I had a child removed from their home because of her mother's addiciton, one child whom lost her mother due to a person driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and a little boy who lost his mother to an overdose...it's time that people wake up and know the price they may have to pay before using their first time, as meth is so addictive, once time is all too often all it takes. Great write! This should be posted in all schools or as Sheila suggested even read aloud to help spread the awareness...well done indeed!

I think this is the perfect metaphor for that evil gal. I watch a lot of those "Intervention" episodes on TV, and crystal meth is definitely a killer. I like the flow of this poem. This would be a great one to read aloud in schools to spread awareness. Perhaps you have? Well done! Love and Hugs:)

Superbly written....
I have seen young people in the correctional facilities who have battled and still battle this man called Meth. This ia a work that should be posted in every high school, college and hospital for everyone to read.

ty for drawing attention to this write Regis, I missed it back then, but it's a must read.
I've seen so many go down on Hammer, Coke, to the grave or to the Jail, even cause strife that defies reason, and still live by the grace of God only..

Ms. Crystal Meth is a problem in many communities. I hear she has been made in labs in the trunks of people's cars. Drugs aren't glamourous at all -- just say NO! Great piece.

and so many that use are young...You being an educator...I
would imagine you keep an eye on your kids....I was always
grateful to God mostly for one thing...None of my kids ever
