Gazing into each room.
Seeking the security
that only your hazel eyes
could offer.
The fear
of your absence
wells up inside of me
as I slip further away.
The seconds seem like days.
A ticking clock echoes in my brain.
Like a hammer hitting steel
over and over.
Frantically
I run through these dark corridors.
Chasing the shadows of my own footsteps
calling your name.
Drenched
in tears
as sweat pours from me
like a heavy rain.
A black smoke
surrounds me
and demons
taunt me.
As I sink to my knees
lost in disparity
I cover my face
turning away from this fear.
Out of these dark halls
a warm glow
reaches over
and touches my soul.
Picking me up
carrying me
into the light
of another day.
As I
drift in and out
I see you
so clearly.
