The reader’s journey over post-apocalyptic terrain in the aftermath of a nuclear meltdown which wipes out nearly every inhabitant on earth is wrought with realism. This story, told from the “last wanderer’s” first-person narrative, allows the reader to connect with an unnamed college professor during his quest to find his sister and uncle—and, ultimately, any survivor.

The author’s meticulous attention to details, whether in regard to: environmental impact, psychological toll on isolation, mechanical ingenuity, and primitive adaptations—are unsurpassed.

I highly recommend this novel for the author’s ability to create a story that toys with the reader’s emotions, just as the winds of post-apocalyptic realism toy with the last wanderer—oftentimes, cruelly.
