Short Story - SciFi Romance: Heart of the Matter

Fascinated by the subject of the afterlife, I gravitated toward the short story, ‘Alone,’ which delves into “parallel universes” (multiverses) - alternate realities. Categorized as Science Fiction Romance—the logic and plausibility forthcoming from a scientific breakthrough, paved the way for me to appreciate the romance aspect. For me, romance is the “heart of the matter”.
The author peels back layers of raw emotions for the reader to feel Caleb’s and Valerie’s anguish over each other’s loss, and the ramifications of togetherness in an alternate reality.
I highly recommend this short story which opens the door to speculation.

And the title of her story, Alone, matches my second novel. I thoroughly searched alone as a title for other books and found none when I wrote the book in 2000. Since then, several books have been written with that title, making it harder to find the story and books in searches.
