She spares not the rod in conveying gruesome details necessary for navigating the plot.

The backstories interwoven into the fabric of this tale serve to bond the reader with her lifelike characters—particularly Cole Forrester and Jeremiah McCoy.

What ensues in the aftermath of a horrific accident in the name of hell-bent vengeance is gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.
