My 5-Star review in entirety published at Amazon for this gripping brand new novel in the genre of Historical Fiction/Action&Adventure Fiction:

Having read ‘Club Cargo,’ the first book where Jack Kregas introduces his key players in Boston, it was a sure bet I’d love the action in ‘The Vegas Transactions’. If you haven’t read Book 1, which I highly recommend, the author does a fine job apprising the reader of what went down in Boston.

It might appear that Willie Shinronski takes a back seat in this story. However, he is the mastermind behind keeping Jack Ross, a renowned mob boss ousted from his leadership position in the Irish Mob, safe from getting whacked by the Italian Mob following his release from prison.

Hence, the move to Vegas, where the Global Hotel & Casino provides much of the story’s backdrop. Then, there’s one of the new key players, Willie’s brother Albin, a force in his own right and my favorite character this time around.

Besides holding the reader’s interest with superb plotting, the author is in command of his cards throughout the story. Without getting off track:

He sprinkles historical tidbits of what Vegas was like in the early ‘70s, as well as the mindset of the Mob during business transactions and transitions. A time when Mafia-controlled casinos were fighting new laws to keep their illegal operations going, this provides realistic cannon fodder for the book.

He provides plenty of interesting and plausible character backgrounds.

You’re going to love the exit strategies he incorporates.

As Jack Ross said, “We all do what we have to do.”

If you’re looking for a sure bet of a book, you know what you have to do to acquire it.
