A health crisis and avid curiosity motivate the author of this comprehensive Nonfiction memoir to find information about her birth parents. Through determination and the meager contents of a quill box her stepmother kept for her, she is able to uncover the past.

The author’s detailed account leaves no stone unturned. She takes the reader back in time to the Nuremburg Trials and provides fascinating descriptions of her month long sojourn in South Africa.

As well, she makes valid points with regard to the emotional and psychological toll from such an undertaking, in addition to the joy it has brought her.

A highly recommended read for those undergoing a similar quest.
