Although I’m not some poor slob still working, or looking for work, as alluded to in the dedication page of this satirical handbook, I can appreciate fictitious Dave Doolittle’s strategies for “sticking it to the man”.

Author Joseph Ferguson, masquerading as Dave Doolittle, does just that through his outlandish and irrational suggestions practically guaranteed to undermine the hiring process, thereby negating chances for gainful employment. As a last resort, one could secure a cushy job such as a “sinecure” – a position that requires no work, yet provides compensation.

His satirical examples of resumes and interviewing techniques are littered with literature-laced references acknowledged by those quick on the uptake.

Having taken Dave’s Quick Test, I don’t quite measure up to subpar work ethics, as a score of 10-14 indicates I have the soul of a box of Kleenex. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this short read which careens with pedal-to-the-metal satire at breakneck speed.
