From the onset, P.S. Winn effectively establishes a sinister feel to her story which opens with Kelly Mitchell awakening in a hospital. The entire medical staff and head physician, Dr. Joseph Mengele, are downright creepy. Like the Nazi-notorious Angel of Death, the good doctor’s psychological experiments on all of Pine View’s patients are backed and funded by the government.
What ensues in this psychological fiction had me looking over my shoulder in mistrust, fearful something would go awry more than it already had.
I highly recommend this suspenseful and thought-provoking novel with eye-opening implications for when the line between good and evil is crossed.

While the choice of the name, "Dr. Joseph Mengele," certainly catches one's attention, I think it shows little imagination. Perhaps the authors should have created a different name, but just as diabolical. Psychological institutions have a bad name because some very bad things were done there in the name of "curing" mental illness by torturous means.
Perhaps your review is short because it is really that good. The hair on the back of my neck is already standing up and I haven't read a lick of it. Maybe just my imagination going wild on the idea.
