Eight-pointed stars, crystalline spears, a steampunkish time piece, references to Jules Verne, and two mysterious strangers hop Hattie and the reader into a fantastical realm of feasibility where all is not lost, but found.

I highly recommend this short story which oozes southern charm and magic in a historical setting.
