Author, Tina-Marie Miller has the reader firmly in her grip from page one when best-selling Scandi-Noir crime writer, Finola Connor, comes across her longtime partner in a compromising position with her housekeeper’s daughter. Thinking a previously planned getaway in Cornwall with besties, Bella and Hugo, is just what she needs without Frank, Finola gets far more than she ever bargains for:

Getting roped into organizing a fundraiser. Clashing with an aristocratic bachelor who wants to take over his winning role of the “Star Prize” character in her next novel. Taking on a conniving villainess out to rake her victims over the coals. Treading new romance with caution. Coping with tragedy.

Each character has their own unique back story, integral to the novel. The author’s vivid imagery used to describe various settings held me spellbound. I could taste the scones with clotted cream and jam.

Whether the plot is trending humorous, madcap, cloak-and-dagger, or laced with danger, there’s never a dull moment in this well-written and engaging romantic romp which I highly recommend.
