Author Martha Perez’ ‘Ruthless Intentions’ is a spine-chilling read from beginning to end. The pitiless weather mirrors the relentless despair for Vicky, her sister Raven, and an alcoholic mother living in dire poverty. In threadbare garments which offer little protection against the brutal cold, Vicky takes the bus to and from her housecleaning job. Often missing the bus due to her employer’s demands, she accepts a ride from a stranger who kidnaps her.

The story’s first-person narratives vacillate between Vicky’s despondent account and her captor’s sadistic intentions. Vivid imagery, graphic details and raw emotions pull the reader into the story’s horrific vortex.

I highly recommend Part 1 of this well-written thriller which spares no mercy for the innocent.
